ACD Connect - Peer Support Network

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing individualised support for eligible people with permanent and significant disability, and will roll out across Victoria from June 2016.

What is ACD Connect?

ACD Connect is a FREE Peer Support Network for families seeking to manage their own supports and make the most of the NDIS to go beyond traditional disability pathways.

Monthly peer meetings will provide opportunities for you to meet other families and share experiences.

Gippsland Carers Association Support Group

The Gippsland carers support group is held at monthly on the third Wednesday of each month. To find out more details, call Melissa, Carer Mentor Carers Place Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 9.00am and 4.00pm on 03 5133 3343.

National Carers Week 11th-17th October 2015

National Carers Week is a time to recognise and celebrate the contribution of unpaid carers. To celebrate why not take a break and take part in one of the many events taking place! You can search for event in your area by visiting the National Carers Week website and using the Find An Event function.

Planning successful transitions to Primary School for students with ASD

Transition to primary school can be a daunting time for parents and children. This collaborative workshop for parents and school transition teams is designed to promote a shared understanding of the student and exploration of strategies for a success transition to primary school.

Family Relationship Support for Carers - EACH

Family Relationship Support for Carers is a state wide service providing counselling, mediation and future planning support for families caring for someone with a disability.
 
The Family Relationship Support for Carers (FRSC) service supports family members caring for someone with an intellectual, physical, neurological or sensory disability, autism spectrum disorder, acquired brain injury or mental illness.
 

Carer Support Group – Warrigal

Gippsland Carers Association are a wholly voluntary Association of family carers and supporters of people with dependent disabilities, handicap, mental illness or aged frailty. If you care you are in!  Warrigal Carer Support Group Meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of every month.

Inverlock and District Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Support Group

Parents, family and carers of children who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder are warmly invited to attend the following meeting of the Inverloch and District ASD Support Group.  Our support group meets the first Wednesday of the month during the school term.  All welcome to join us for a cuppa and a chat while the kids can play in the playground.  We provide support, information sharing, and social get togethers.  Tea and Coffee Provided, no cost.
